Full description
Ring footpath located within the Parco delle Dolomiti Friulane.
From the village of Claut we will follow the road that will take us over the hamlet of Lesis. From Pian della Cea, where you park, our journey will begin, crossing a mixed forest environment, composed mainly of beech, spruce and mountain maple passing a series of bridges and walkways.
At the end, slightly downhill, we will reach the base of an impluvium cluttered with large boulders that will lead us to visit the entrance of the Landre Scur (Dark Cave), a place that, over the centuries inspired many myths and legends. This large cave, in its initial stretch will give us the feeling of being inside an impressive natural cathedral.
Our ring will then lead us near Casera Casavento where, visible on a large boulder, we will be able to admire the fossil footprints that a dinosaur impressed 215 million years ago, on what at the time was a sandy bottom.
We will then descend to the starting point through the woods. The day will end in the name of conviviality in a typical local trattoria.
